During your filling appointment, the dentist will remove the decay in your tooth, as well as any compromised tooth structure. Then, filling material will be placed in the tooth, sometimes with a medicated layer at its base, depending on the depth of the decay. The filling will be adjusted so that it’s comfortable in your bite.
